Job Description:
As a Salesperson for Regional Tourism Development, you will play a key role in uncovering and developing regional resources in Niigata and neighboring prefectures, transforming them into compelling tourism content, and commercializing these experiences. Your responsibilities will include engaging in sales activities with inbound travel agents both in Japan and internationally, effectively promoting the unique attractions of the region.
In addition to sales, you will accompany tours and guide customers on-site, helping them experience the distinctive charm of the tourism products you help create. Additionally, you will be responsible for translation and interpretation tasks as needed.
Another key responsibility will involve drafting proposals and participating in projects to promote tourism initiatives, including collaboration with government entities to advance regional tourism planning.
Both English and Japanese proficiency are essential.
Employee testimonial
It’s incredibly rewarding to discover and develop local resources in Niigata and neighboring prefectures, turning them into tourism products that help revitalize the region. I take pride in being part of the tourism industry, as it allows me to uncover hidden gems of the area and share them with both domestic and international travelers. Contributing to the growth of inbound tourism is particularly fulfilling, as the role offers global exposure through interactions with overseas agents and the opportunity to guide tours locally.
That said, developing tourism products often requires extensive coordination with local stakeholders and meticulous adjustments, which can be time-consuming. Additionally, conducting and guiding tours requires a strong sense of responsibility to ensure everything goes as planned, even when unexpected challenges arise. However, the sense of accomplishment when seeing the region thrive and come to life makes it all worthwhile.
